TURKEY DAY A COMETH | MIKE FISHER'S FLYERS | PLAYLISTS | TOP 10

Oh yeah, Turkey Day is right around the corner and most of us will be with our family or with the "other" family. You know, the in-laws or your bf/gf's family. For me, it'll be the first time in a long time I'll be hanging with another family (besides mine) on Turkey Day. I'm from Texas and her family are from here in Northern Cali so imagine the table conversation (been hunting lately? which republican did you last vote for? how many people were put to death this year. etc etc...). I mean, I'm gonna be myself. Scratch that! I'm gonna be as good as I can and my Uncle already said something funny to me. After I told him what I was doing for the holiday, he said, "Oh shit! They better have enough food 'cause you fuckin eat everything." HAHAHA!!! I fuckin' laughed my ass off because it's true. Also, I get food coma pretty bad and I'm hoping I can go to a bedroom or take the couch over because I need to sleep, damn it. HA! Anyway, I'm gonna be on best behavior and hopefully I don't embarrass myself or my girlfriend for the matter. Oh yeah! The one thing that is making me nervous has nothing to do with meeting her family for the first time (and it's on a holiday) and that's what the hell am I gonna wear. Should I wear all black? Wear my green cargos with Doc's and a long sleeve Ministry shirt? HA! If anybody has any tips for this first timer, let me know.

I included my new flyers for my radio shows. They're fuckin' killer and I'm glad I finally got some done. They were done by my buddy, Mike Fisher. What’s happening everybody? I’m alive and doing well after nearly a four month departure from the airwaves here at KSCU. I hope your summer went as well as mine. I went to tons of shows, downed gallons & gallons of booze, watched baseball & war on the telee, didn’t get to kiss a girl, went to a few BBQ’s, did my other radio show here in San Francisco and yet accomplished nothing. Yep, another typical summer for me. HA!

Starting tomorrow, Thursday the 29th for 8 years and runnin’, THE THRASH ATTACK radio show is back. I’ll still be at my old slot time, 4-7PM (Pacific time) on KSCU 103.3FM and of course streaming online at http://KSCU.org. The show will stick with its same old format of NEW; Metal, Hardcore, Stoner Rock, Sludge, Doom, Death, Grind, Rock, Punk, Garage, Industrial, Post-Everything, Indie, Re-Issues and whatever else I want. I’m still doing my other radio show, TERRIBLE TUESDAYS as well here in San Francisco on RADIO VALENCIA 87.9FM and/or streaming online at http://radiovalencia.fm. Hey hey everybody, what’s up? Just to let you know first, I got a new computer and it’s a MAC. I’ve been PC ever since I bought my first one in 1998. The MAC feels like I took a Viagra and can’t get off of it. Also, I did not call a doctor after 4 hours. HA! Now onto the biz…..

Summer is here and that means for a second time straight, THE THRASH ATTACK Radio Show will be off for the summer. I’m doing some traveling, projects around the house and just kick it too. When I got back from my Texas trip last week, I felt BBQ sauce & Lone Star Beer going through my veins up until last Sunday. Really! It took me almost a week to shake off almost two weeks of another kick ass SXSW & Texas trip for me. If you're reading this and you've never been to a SXSW, you don't know what you're missing. Imagine seeing bands all day & all night while you're drinking beer, eating BBQ, hot dogs, taco truck treats up until 2AM for five to six days straight. WOW! I'm eating salad since then. HA! Now, bring on the shows and summer fests.

This past Tuesday on my other radio show, I interviewed Chavez of SMOGTOWN. They'll be here in San Francisco this Saturday for their CD release party at The Rockit Room in the Richmond District. I haven't seen them since '05 or '06. It's going to be fun show. Also this weekend on Sunday here in SF is the METALLIANCE TOUR! I'm hoping to interview Kurt of CROWBAR and hang with my buds in RED FANG from Portland. The song 'Wires' from their upcoming new album is incredible. I also don't mind seeing KYLESA again and can't wait too see HOWL because i missed them last time they came around. All in all, good line-up, great people and the future of heavy music all in one building and in one day.

SXSW IS NEAR!! PLAYLISTS! TOP 10!

YES! Another SXSW coming our way two weeks from today. Actually, it's the 25th Anniversary of SXSW. Being from San Antonio, we always looked forward going to Austin for SXSW too see bands and let me tell you, things were different back then. Yeah, I went to the 3rd one and the wristband was $5 i believe. Now, $150 or something like that. YIKES! The acts at SXSW were mainly local and then out-of-towners started to come in and here we are now. SXSW is the biggest and first music gathering of each year in the land of Lone Star Beer, BBQ and all night partying (if you're not careful. HA!).

I'll be in Texas a week earlier to visit family & friends so NO THRASH ATTACK or TERRIBLE TUESDAY until the week of March 21st. Also, the TOP 10 will stay the same until i get back and no ADDS as well. Aw man, I got the zombie flu last week and missed work, both my radio shows and a couple of good shows going on here in the city. I'm much better now and being back 100% means a new & fresh start. I know I've been lagging on my updates but man, I've been tired from work, the weather has been so nice that I've been playing outside a lot and I've been listening to shitloads of music as of late. Really! I've been buying vinyl like no tomorrow and all the promos and new music coming in is really getting my ass in gear for SXSW in Austin, TX. YEAH!! Once again, I'll be there for another round of BBQ, Lone Star Beer, live music, friends and lots of partying. If you're going, LET ME KNOW! I want to hook up with just about as much of y'all I can. I know where all the good shows are. I don't stay in one place too long and I just don't see my friends bands either. I see all! HA! Now it feels like the holidaze and winter here in San Francisco. What's up everybody? I'm still alive and doing well. My PC took a dump and I had to do some crap to fix it. So, if you want OFF this mailing list, let me know now. Thanks!

The Holidaze are in full swing. It's raining, chilly, X-mas lights are shining up the city, people walking around like its snowing, the METAL and ROCKNROLL sound better for some reason and booze tastes so much better during the cold time. Nice! By the way, KSCU and the building its in will be closed from Dec 23rd thru the 1st of the New Year so that means NO Thrash Attack for two weeks! On the other hand, my other radio show, Terrible Tuesday at Radio Valencia 87.9FM here in the city will still go on. That I can dig! By the way, I did a Bon Scott, AC/DC tribute on my show yesterday. TX/NYC TRIP WAS GREAT! RADIO VALENCIA ON THE AIRWAVES! THRASH ATTACK, PLAYLISTS, TOP 10/ADDS

I was so lazy last week from my full week of being back from my 2 week trip that I did not feel like writing my radio update but, I am now. What's up my friends? My trip was a success. Went back to Texas for some family, friends, Tex-Mex food and of course BBQ. YUMMY! Then it was off to New York City for CMJ. I would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to my friends Julie & Tommy for letting me stay in there apartment in Queens. Thank you! Okay now, I had a blast this time. I got to hang with Heavy Hitters at there office and then went on their pub crawl and it was amazing. Hanging out with other DJ's from all over the country and getting silly drunk at five different bars was very fun. Thank you Heavy Hitters (Bino, Alisha & Dave). Skateboard Marketings own Munsey's party of course was pretty wicked as well. Actually, he went along with us on the Heavy Hitters pub crawl and the knowledge he posseses about music in the last 4 decades should be in the Library of Congress. HA! Anyway, great guy and great converstation. I met Bram from The Syndicate and I thought he was going to be a little nerdy music guy. SHIT! I was wrong. He looked like a wrestler in the WWF or something. Put him next to Stone Cold or The Big Show, he'll fit right in. HAHAHAHA!!! He's a great guy! I also got to hang out at two TEE PEE Presents parties. Thanks Steve for everything and hey, leave me on your mailing list. HA! Also, Dave from Relapse is one the coolest label guys out there and to everybody else I forgot, next year we'll do it again. YEAH!!!
